The British artist will show new works at the space from 27 December 2016 – 3 February 2017, following his exhibition at von Bartha, Basel in 2015.
Ricardo Alcaide is one of the latest additions to join von Bartha’s roster of artists. In January 2016 the gallery will present a solo exhibition from the artist. Alcaide’s work examines urban environments, reflecting on the social and spatial dynamics of the architecture within these centres. He works across an array of mediums, including sculpture, photography, drawing and painting.
In collaboration with curator Erich Weiss, works of modern and contemporary surrealist art from the von Bartha family collection are on display in an exhibition titled Surrealism & Beyond which will travel next to Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam and the Tàpies Foundation, Barcelona
During Art Basel week 2016, von Bartha are collaborating with local Basel restaurant Rhyschänzli for a unique dining experience of traditional Swiss food in the gallery space.
French artist Bernar Venet’s massive steel sculpture Effondrement:Arcs (2016) will be on view as part of the 2016 edition of Parcours.

Swedish artist Christian Andersson is opening an exhibition of new and recent works at the gallery during Art Basel which will run from 15 June to 23 July.
Artist Felipe Mujica (b. 1974, Santiago, Chile) will participate in the 32nd Bienal de São Paulo which will run from 10 September to 12 December 2016 at the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion.
