Just a short taxi or tram ride from the fair, Rhyschänzli @ von Bartha will pop-up in the gallery space during Art Basel from 14 to 19 June. The pop-up will be an inspiring addition to the Art Basel experience acting as a creative meeting point for visitors.

The backdrop to the pop-up restaurant will be a specially designed mural by Bob & Roberta Smith, and visitors will also have the opportunity to see the new exhibition of works by Christian Andersson which will run concurrently.

Rhyschänzli is a local Basel restaurant specialising in regionally sourced produce from Switzerland with a focus on meat and cheese. The daily menu will serve 3 to 4 main courses with a range of meat, fish and vegetarian options, including signature dishes such as beef tenderloin, roasted veal and artisan bread.

The idea of a collaboration with Rhyschänzli during Art Basel emerged after a successful VIP dinner at the gallery. Stefan von Bartha and Lothar Linsmayer, head chef at Rhyschänzli @ von Bartha, worked together to create a new concept for Art Basel 2016.

“I think great things always work well together. Food and art are two great things, and therefore they are a perfect combination,” said Stefan von Bartha discussing the synergy between art and fine dining.

Rhyschänzli @ von Bartha will open on Tuesday 14 June, in conjunction with the opening of the new exhibition by Christian Andersson.

Location: Entenweidstrasse 10, CH-4056 Basel
