Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich, presents a major solo exhibition from Andrew Bick

Haus Konstruktiv is the first Swiss museum to present a solo exhibition of work by the London-based artist Andrew Bick. On view will be a selection of Bick’s most recent work, arranged as an installation which responds to the museum’s architecture. The exhibition is part of a programme dedicated to British art, which also sees other solo shows from Marlow Moss and Cerith Wyn Evans.

Bick creates multi-layered wax paintings which are characterised by his use of free and geometric forms. The artist amalgamates drawing and painting, line and plane, transparency and opacity, colourful and untreated surfaces, as well as glossy and matt to form a multifaceted and inscrutable whole. His work first came to prominence in the wake of British constructivism, for his seemingly architectural visual structures. In addition to his artistic practice, Bick has spent many years working as a curator, author and lecturer.

Haus Konstruktiv is internationally regarded as a leading institution for constructivist, concrete, and conceptual art in Switzerland. It promotes the legacy of these movements’ pioneers, whilst creating a new dialogue with contemporary artists working today. Presenting up to nine temporary exhibitions a year, Haus Konstruktiv is supported by the Foundation for Constructivist, Concrete and Conceptual Art.
