Camille Graeser Solo Exhibition at Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, Germany

Work by von Bartha artist Camille Graeser (b. 1892, Switzerland) is on show at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, Germany

until 3 January 2016. The exhibition forms part of the museum’s ‘Art and Music’ anniversary programme, which also

includes I Got Rhythm: Art and Jazz since 1920, a show featuring works by Jackson Pollock, Piet Mondrian and Andy Warhol.

Camile Graeser and Music presents a group of work created by the artist between 1946 and 1951, based on his

fascination with musical structures and atmospheres. The dynamic, lyrical arrangements of individual forms

distinguish these paintings from the rest of the artist’s oeuvre. The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the

Camille Graeser Foundation and the Aargauer Kunsthaus, Aarau.

 

Camille Graeser is one of the most important representatives of Concrete Art in Switzerland. He lived in Struttgart

between 1911 and 1933, where he completed a course in furniture and interior design at the Königliche

Kunstgewerbeschule (Royal School of Arts and Crafts), before opening his own interior design, architecture and

graphic design studio in the city.
